Ricky Ranking is a UK mic legend whose story stretches back to the very roots of British sound system culture. Starting out with the iconic Coxsone and King Tubbys in the 70s, Ricky made his name on the legendary Nasty Rockers sound system before cementing his reputation with the incredible Taurus Hi Power. With a catalog of singles spanning both dancehall and lovers rock, Ricky’s voice is one of the most recognizable in British reggae history.

From the late 90s Ricky Ranking toured worldwide as an MC for acclaimed UK artists Roots Manuva and rave group Nightmare on Wax — bringing his unique style to audiences far beyond the sound system world. In recent years he has returned to his sound system roots while continuing to release music regularly.
