Supakeith

Keith Blake is professionally known as Keith from Kilimanjaro Sound Systems.  Keith was born and raised in Trench Town Kingston, Jamaica.  Home of the great legend “Bob Marley”.  The community of Trench Town is rich with musical talent leading to Keith’s love for music.  Keith was so passionate about music that he joined a local marching band as a drummer and bugler after he moved to Spanish town when a teenager.  While he was in the marching band he was introduced to “Great Ricky Trooper” (See full Interview here)  

Keith and Trooper became good friends back in the early 1990’s after Trooper got his break and was established as the top selector with Killmanjaro.  He got Keith a job with Jaro doing various jobs, such as lifting speaker boxes, rolling out speaker wires and dusting records to be played.  Before long Keith started to go around with Trooper daily, mainly dealing with artists making custom songs and dub plates.  After a few years working with Trooper, Keith was exposed to how sound systems operate.  Moving from strength to strength he became very impressive, even traveling overseas with Killamanjaro sounds systems. He left Jaro with Trooper who departed to start his own sound system business called Sound Trooper. (See full Interview)  Around 2010 Keith left Sound Trooper to do a joint partnership club with a local DJ friend in Jamaica.
